25 companies join MCCI basketball league

THE MCCI Basketball Tournament kicked off with nine games during the opening day on May 25, 2019 at the Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu.

The fellowship tournament, organized by the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), aims to foster sportsmanship and camaraderie as well as promote health and wellness among the employees of member companies.

Twenty-five companies will be competing for the tournament which will run until Aug. 25.

The teams competing this year are King’s Quality Foods, Inc., San Miguel Brewery Inc., Prime Movers Total Logistics Inc., Shemberg Marketing Corporation, Virginia Food Inc., Rollway Freight & Shipping Agencies Corp., Virginia Farms Inc., Treasure Island Industrial Corporation, LBC Express, Paca Ship Training and Management, Carlos A. Gothong Lines Inc., Jentec Storage Inc., Newman Chemicals Corp., Uratex, Ng Khai Dev’t Corp., F.A.S.T Lab-Cebu, Asian Grains, Cebu Integrated Arrastre, Pacific CATV Inc. (Skycable), Newsan Trading Ltd. Co., Wellmade Motors, Belcris Food Inc., Alpa City Suites, One Central Hotel & Suites Corp. and Cebu Sherilin Trading Corp.

In the first day, the Asian Grains outlasted San Miguel Brewery Inc., 86-79, One Central Hotel defeated Virginia Farms Inc., 51-44, Carlos A. Gothong Lines, Inc. won against Wellmade Motors, 52-35, Prime Movers Total Logistics beat Ng Khai Development Corp., 61-48; and Shemberg Marketing survived Rollway Freight, 69-68.

The Cebu Integrated Arrastre also got into the winner’s column afte rbeating Newman Chemicals Corp.86-46, Alpa City Suites beat Newsan Trading, 48-39, Virginia Food routed SkyCable, 71-42 and Uratex beat F.A.S.T. Lab, 68-45.

Meanwhile, Nicole Borromeo of Cebu Sherilin Trading Corp. won the Best Muse, while Trisha Andrea of Cebu Integrated Arrastre and Juvel Mangubat Ducay of Virginia Food Inc. finished second and third, respectively. (PR)
