A DRUG personality who was sleeping inside his house was killed after he was shot by five unidentified assailants at Purok Neptune, Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City Wednesday morning, May 29.
Police identified the fatality as Rodelio Camento, 43.
Police Major Charles Gever, chief of Police Station 8, said Camento, a trisikad (pedicab) driver, was sleeping inside his house at about 1 a.m. when five unidentified assailants, who were wearing masks, forcibly entered his house and fired at him several times and fled using motorcycles.
He said Camento sustained multiple wounds and was brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, but he did not survive.
Police recovered from scene of the crime an empty cartridge of .9mm caliber and a hand grenade with no plastic cap and powder.
Gever said Camento was identified as high-value target within his area of jurisdiction.
He said they are eyeing illegal drugs as the motive in the killing of the victim.
He added in 2018, Camento was a subject of “Tokhang”, but he failed to surrender.
Police Station 8 is still conducting a thorough investigation to determine the identity of the suspects. (MAP)
