POLICE Regional Office (PRO) Central Luzon motorcycle riders, together with other civic groups, saved some Aeta families the cost of buying school supplies, as they donated various materials to school children over the weekend.

A total of 250 packs of school supplies were donated to natives of Capaz City in Tarlac province by the police riders led by PRO Central Luzon Deputy Director for Operations Colonel Rhoderick Armamento.

The riders were joined by members of the 301st and 304th Maneuver Companies of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion, members of the Alpha Omega Fraternity and Sorority International Order Academicians, and Los Angelenos Riders. They rode their way to the foot of Mt. Pinatubo and reached out to the natives by giving school supplies to their children.

"This is part of our social responsibility as citizens of our country. As law enforcers, we do not only go after lawless elements, we also help ease poverty in our own little way. We also thank our civilian partners who help us fulfill this undertaking," Armamento said.

Armamento said the activity also aimed to encourage Aetas to enroll their children to formal school in order to ensure better opportunities for them in the future.

"I also encouraged our Aeta brothers and sisters to enroll their children in public school since basic education can surely change their way of life," he added.
