It’s a cool summer with Hanz Coquilla

CEBUANO fashion designer Hanz Coquilla brings a flowy note this summer season. His latest Spring/Summer 2019 collection, Prima—under his ready-to-wear line, Coquille—screams light and airy. More than being fashion pieces, these are an answered prayer and great addition to one’s line of outfits to wear to the tropics.

“These are summer-themed outfits but classic in many ways. You can even wear them all-year round. I mean, can there be a country as sunny as the Philippines? It’s summer all-year long in our country, which is great,” Coquilla said.

These are breathable, comfortable and most of all, versatile as what Coquilla intended them to be. Wear a piece on its own or jazz it up with accessories, the decision lies with the wearer.

“Each piece is like a blank canvas where the wearer is the artist. People can match it with their favorite chunky accessories or experiment with avant-garde jewelry—they can be as artistic as they want!”

Coquilla shared that the collection is available until supplies last and added that the brand will be selling its staple items all-year long.

Apart from the collection featuring fashion pieces to wear for the season, it is a nod to inclusivity as the pieces were made to fit women of all sizes—from petite to plus size. This has always been the brand’s advocacy: to cater to women of all sizes.

“Women come in different shapes and sizes. They’re a diverse species and we try to cater to each of them. We want every woman to be happy and happiness means there’s always something for each of them,” Coquilla said, adding that his inspiration for his designs has always been women.

“This collection is for every single woman out there.”
