A 32-YEAR-OLD man was killed while playing billiard by an unidentified assailant at Wenjeve Billiard Sport along the Mother Perpetual Help Avenue in Patag, Cagayan de Oro City, past midnight, Thursday, May 30.
Police identified the victim as Mc Ryle Geraldizo, of Tejero Village, Patag who did not make it alive when rushed to Medical Center Hospital.
A spectator identified as Rolan Laure, 29, was brought to the JR Borja General Hospital after sustaining minor wounds after he scampered during the shooting incident.
Geraldizo sustained three gunshot wounds in the chest and right crotch portion.
Investigators recovered three fired cartridges from an unknown caliber or pistol from the crime scene.
Police Major Ian Borinaga, police station 4 commander, said the suspect suddenly appeared and shot the victim. Nobody saw the suspect riding any vehicle.
“Sa atong nakuha nga information usa ra ka suspect unya walay nakakita nga nakamotor kini so posible nagbaklay kini ug nidagan human sa pagpamusil,” Borinaga said.
(Based on the information, we only identified one suspect, and no one saw the assailant that he or she rode a motorcycle, so it’s possible that the culprit just walked and ran away after firing)
Borinaga said they are still investigating the background of the victim. He said the victim is assisting his father in a car display establishment in Barangay Bulua.
“Nagtabang-tabang ni siya sa iyang papa siya maoy tig-process sa sakyanan sa LTO. Namorsyento rani sila diha,” he added.
(He helped his father by assisting on the processing of papers at the Land Transportation Office, he is just earning some commission there)
Borinaga said while investigators are looking at personal grudge as possible motive of the incident. (Alwen Saliring)
