Popcom sets orientation for students on AHD film festival

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Commission on Population (Popcom) is now accepting entries to the Adolescent Health and Development (AHD) film festival, as it sets the orientation for the film festival this June for grade 9 to 11 students.

The AHD film festival was originally conceived to provide a venue for creativity among young people and at the same time raise their awareness on various issues affecting them such as teenage pregnancy, early sexual encounters, climate change among others.

The festival is open to seven provinces and two HUCs; coming from grade 9 and 11 (third year and fourth year Junior High School) students from public and private schools interested schools are required to attend the orientations to be conducted by Popcom-Central Luzon Region.

Reservation of slots for the orientation will be on a first come-first served basis. Only schools which participated during the orientation will be allowed to come up with their film entries.

The AHD Film Festival, now a national event, aims to create awareness on the status of today’s adolescents and young people and provide a creative venue where they can express themselves on issues like teenage pregnancy, sexuality and reproductive health.

The Best Film shall be the official entry of Popcom-Central Luzon to the National Level Adolescent Health and Development Film Fest.

All films produced by participating schools in the region will become property of Popcom as communication and information materials for AHD program.
