13 more barangays to get vehicles

ANOTHER 13 barangays identified with the Bando Osmeña Pundok Kauswagan (BOPK) will get their donated vehicles from the Cebu City Government.

During the regular session last Tuesday, May 28, 2019, the council approved resolutions authorizing Mayor Tomas Osmeña to sign the deed of donation with the barangay captains of the 13 villages.

These barangays include Zapatera (two vehicles), Mabini (two vehicles), Talamban (two vehicles), Tejero (three vehicles), Malubog (one vehicle), Pahina Central (one vehicle), Paril (one vehicle), Pit-os (one vehicle), Tinago), T. Padilla (one vehicle), Pulangbato (one vehicle), San Antonio (one vehicle) and San Roque (one vehicle).

But Councilor Raymond Garcia reiterated his manifestation that the vehicles were all given to BOPK-allied barangay captains.

The opposition councilors, including Garcia, questioned its timing and intention.

Garcia said the gesture is good, but the present administration should equitably distribute the vehicles.

Even before the 13, the council also approved the deed of donation of vehicles to 25 barangays.

Councilor Sisinio Andales, who sponsored the resolutions, earlier promised that all barangays would get vehicles.

General Services Office chief Ronald Malacora had also assured that other barangays would get vehicles. He said his office was processing the documents that would be submitted to the council to cover the donation. (RVC)
