Pangan: Starting with a new slate

THE recent mid-term elections have brought new fire to the plan of Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo C. Garbo to start his first full term with people so "loyal" to him that they were prepared to fight and "die" for him.

With his sweeping victory at the polls, which he considers a virtual vindication for him, Mayor Cris announced in the traditional Monday flag ceremony last May 27, 2019 that plenty of the job order contract holders, casuals and even permanent employees will surely get the ax and their services will therefore be severed on or before June 15, 2019.

He disclosed that a screening committee, including the comebacking Emmanuel E. Ignacio, will scrutinize minutely the Personal Data Sheet of each employee and recommend their retention or termination.

Such is the prerogative of the victorious team of Mayor Cris which saw the exit of reelectionist councilmen and the entry of the new members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod. Most of the slate of Mayor Garbo won in the mid term elections that is why the mayor is enthusiastic that his programs will be passed upon by the new local legislative body.

Vengeance is not mine, claims Mayor Cris, but the results of the mid-term elections dictate that I should take in those who really fought for me and my team and discard those who were aginast us through their actuations and various antagonistic Facebook posts.

I heard that there are even department heads who run the risk of being 'floated' due to their pre-election posts which lambasted Mayor Cris and his slate. They know that I know them, adds the mayor, and if they truly have delicadeza, they should now resign their posts before I get to them. So there goes the massive rigodon!

For the next three years, I envision that Mayor Cris will solidify his hold of the mayorship. He has big plans for the City and its people which are all aimed at improving their lives and living standards.

He plans to continue with his crusade: care for the sick and bedridden, health programs for the needy and destitute, financial and medical assistance for the deserving and more infrastructure for the city.

If all these plans and programs of Mayor Cris will push through, his term may last for three consecutive times of three years per term. He becomes unbeatable like his predecessor Boking Morales. Bet?
