THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) intensified its visibility patrol in all public schools for the opening of classes Monday, June 3, 2019.
Police Major Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said Sunday that all station commanders were directed to put up police assistance desks (PADs) in all schools within their areas of jurisdiction.
“The station commanders should ensure the deployment of their personnel to secure the safety of our students,” he said.
He added the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) will also deploy its traffic enforcers in various public schools to ensure the smooth flow of traffic.
Pico noted that after the May 13 elections, they already have their security plan for the opening of classes on June 3.
In every school, two policemen will be deployed to man the PADs.
Pico said they will also deploy mobile personnel as well as the Special Weapons and Tactics (Swat) to monitor the peace and order in all public schools.
Police Colonel Henry Binas, acting director of BCPO, directed the station commanders to ensure that the PADs will be manned by policemen and not the barangay tanods.
Binas reminded parents to tell their children to be vigilant and not to talk to strangers.
