Maasin honors CPA board topnotcher

MAASIN CITY Mayor Nacional Mercado is all praises for Eric Saavedra Dolera, who placed third in the May 2019 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) board examination.

“In behalf of the City Government of Maasin, we would like to congratulate Maasin City’s very own, Mr. Eric Saavedra Dolera of St. Joseph College for placing top 3 in the 2019 CPA licensure exams,” said Mercado.

“May you become an inspiration to every student and to everyone to strive harder and pursue their dreams. As our way of recognizing your achievement, please receive our humble token and plaque of recognition at the Mayor’s office anytime you’re free. We are very proud of you!” added Mercado.

Dolera got a rating of 88.17 percent. He placed third, after Josemaria Alvaro Fontillas and Geraldine Jade Papa from De La Salle University-Manila with 89.83 percent, and Leinard Jan Zaspa of University of Mindanao-Davao City with 88.50 percent.

Other CPA board passers from Saint Joseph College were Leslie Anne Caberte, Gilbert Pavo, Jules Bryan Sabucido, and Robin Ariel Sumaya.

Only 1,699 out of 10,319 or 16.46 percent passed the examination given by the Board of Accountancy in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Tacloban and Tuguegarao, according to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). (Ronald O. Reyes)
