Flower golf tilt tees off March 5

BAGUIO’S top amateur parbusters are set to hit the greens anew for the Flower Tee Open Golf Tournament slated March 5 at the Baguio Country Club golf course.

Close to 200 golfers are expected to suit up in the Molave format of play in the tournament as part of the city’s 15th year celebration of the annual Baguio Flower Festival.

Three classifications will be played in the men’s division divided into three classes, A,B, and C in the 18-hole, par 61 and 4,038 yards , designed by Luis Golem Silverio which presents seven par 4s and eleven par 3s.

The ladies, seniors and juniors division will likewise have two classes - A and B - and one guest division in the golf course which has always been a co-host to Fil-Am Golf Invitational - the longest running tournament in the country.

Registration for the golf tournament is at P1,000 for members while the jungolf is pegged at P800 and the guest division will be charged P2,000 per golfer.

“Registration is still on going,” said Baguio Country Club resident manager Shin Paul Chan of the tournament originally scheduled Feb. 27. Interested golfers who wish to join the contest may contact the organizers at 619-2050 or fax 442-7674. (Roderick Osis)
