ALL random drug tests that were supposed to be administered by the Cebu Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Office (Cpadao) for June 2019 have been moved to the first week of July.

Cpadao Chief Carmen Remedios Durano-Meca said Monday, June 3, that they decided to postpone the conduct of the drug tests as they ran out of drug testing kits.

“Di pa pwede mo PR till the new administration, mao na nga sa July na ta mo-resume (We can't submit a purchase request till the new administration assumes office, that's why we will resume with our drug testing on July yet),” she told reporters.

Those that were rescheduled include requests for random drug testing for teachers, local government units and regional offices.

Meca said they already informed the requesting parties about the changes in schedule.

“(But) unless we will be given by the DOH (Department of Health) drug testing kits, then we can proceed right away. We have two sources for the kits, the ones purchased by the Provincial Government and the other comes as aid from the DOH. But both sources of supply are depleted already,” she added. (SunStar Cebu)
