PETER Joemel Advincula, the man who claimed to be "Bikoy" in the series of “Ang Totoong Narco-list” video clips, has returned to police custody and agreed to cooperate in the investigation into the videos.
Brigadier General Amador Corpus, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) director, said they placed Advincula under their protective custody again on May 27, when he came back together with his legal counsel.
“He voluntarily surrendered himself and requested for protective custody. He is now under investigation,” Corpus said.
Advincula has issued an unofficial affidavit, where he identified more personalities who are allegedly involved in a plot to oust President Rodrigo Duterte.
The affidavit also listed the places where the "plotters" allegedly conducted meetings and recorded the videos.
Corpus said Advincula surrendered his desktop computer and cellular phone which allegedly contains his exchange of text messages with the people whom he claimed to be behind the “Ang Totoong Narcolist” videos.
The CIDG chief said they were coordinating with the security personnel of the places that Advincula mentioned to get copies of CCTV footage that may support his claims.
PNP Chief Oscar Albayalde said Advincula is not yet off the hook.
“Yes (he is not yet off the hook). Hindi kami ang puwedeng magsabi kung sya ay puwedeng maging witness or respondent. It's up to the court,” he said.
Advincula had claimed that the videos were part of “Project Sodoma” which aims to unseat Duterte.
Advincula surrendered on May 23 to face charges of estafa against him.
In a press conference after his surrender, Advincula retracted the allegations he made against members of President Duterte's family and said he was commissioned to act the part of "Bikoy" by Liberal Party officials and opposition Senator Antonio Trillanes IV.
He left police custody after posting bail and returned on May 27.
The series of videos linked presidential son Paolo Duterte and son-in-law Manases Carpio as well as senator-elect Christopher Go to illegal drugs. The videos also claimed that the President's long-time partner and their daughter were receiving drug money. (SunStar Philippines)
