Senior officer, 3 hospital personnel honored

THE military’s Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) has honored one of its senior officer and three hospital employees for the meritorious services they rendered to Westmincom.

Colonel Gerry Besana, Westmincom information officer, said the honorees are Colonel Ismael Mandana Jr., Anabel Escobar, Felina Jaugar, and Blessing Tacadena.

Besana said Mandanas received the Distinguished Service Medal for “eminently meritorious and valuable service rendered as the Assistant Chief of Unified Command Staff for Operations from July 1, 2018 to June 1, 2019.”

Besana said Mandanas has supported and supervised 2,255 combat operations and completed 132,320 “Bayanihan” team activities during his stint.

He said Mandanas is now assigned to the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations at the headquarters of the Philippine Army.

He said Escobar, Jaugar, and Tacadena, who reached their retirement age, have received a plaque of appreciation for their significant contribution to Camp Navarro General Hospital in this city.

Lieutenant General Arnel Dela Vega, Westmincom chief, led the awarding ceremony held during Monday’s flag ceremony in Camp Navarro.

Dela Vega has lauded Mandanas and the three medical personnel for their indefatigable services.

“You were integral in the accomplishment of our goals and, for that, we are grateful. I congratulate you for a job well done. You have truly served the public with such dedication,” Dela Vega said. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
