Rock ‘kills’ bus passenger

A BUS passenger died after a falling rock hit him in the head by on the evening of June 1 at Sitio Begis, Poblacion, Marcos Highway in Tuba, Benguet.

The man was identified by Tuba Municipal Police Station (MPS) as Pedro Flores, 58 years old, of Dilan, Pozzorrubio, Pangasinan and currently works as a carpenter in Baguio City.

Police Major James Acod, chief of police of Tuba MPS, said investigation revealed the Solid North bus was on its way to the lowlands when rock fell from the mountain side, hitting the bus passenger.

The bus incurred broken window pane on the driver side while the victim sustained head injury and rushed to Baguio General Hospital for medical attention.

However, he died around 9:30 p.m. of the same day.
