Man nabbed in Villamonte drug bust

A 27-YEAR-OLD man was arrested by local authorities after he was allegedly caught red-handed selling “shabu” to a police poseur buyer in Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City on Sunday evening, June 2.

Police identified the suspect as Joed Caballes, a resident of the said barangay.

Police recovered from Caballes’ possession four sachets of shabu with an estimated value of P5,500 and the P300 marked money.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 5 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, three persons were also arrested for illegal gambling at Purok Dubai, Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City on Sunday afternoon.

Police identified the suspects as Norlie Canja, June Manueto, and Leo Teompa, all residents of Barangay Tangub.

Police Major Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office, said the suspects were caught by operatives of Police Station 8 for playing illegal gambling or bug-oy at 5:45 p.m.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession six pieces of seashells and P120 bet money.
