THE Muslim community in Bacolod City under Masjid Abu Bakr Al Siddiq will gather today in front of the Bacolod Government Center to conduct the Salatul-Eid or a prayer for the celebration of the Eid’l Fitr or the end of the month of Ramadan, Omar Paciente, director and administrator of the Masjid Abu Bakr Al Siddiq mosque located in Barangay 30, Bacolod City said.
Ramadan is considered as one of the holiest periods in the Islamic calendar where the Muslims go on fasting, praying and extend charity to one another.
He said that during the Ramadan period, they were observing their limits under the Islam.
There is the so-called “Haram or prohibition” from doing it during Ramadan and the “Halal” or acts that are lawful and permitted.
He said that he was a Christian before but when he went to Saudi, he saw the need to convert to Islam faith which he (they) anchored their faith to Allah, the one and only God.
The Islam teachings taught the Muslims to believe in one and only God, the creator where they called Him Allah.
But they respect other religions too like the Catholics.
He also urged his fellow Muslims to do what is right before Allah.
Let us avoid doing the Haram (prohibited) and practice doing the Halal (lawful and permitted), he said.
The Ramadan reminds us to know our limits and honor what is right and just under the Islam faith, he added.
He considered Islam as the true and genuine religion.
“We are all the same but there is only one religion which is right and genuine - the Islam that teaches the people to believe in one and only God which is Allah,” he said.
Allah is merciful. He said that all sins can be forgiven if you ask forgiveness to Him except for worshipping other gods aside from Him.
He created the people to worship Him.
