SOME 106 new agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) completed their training during the 14th PDEA Academy Commencement Exercises for Drug Enforcement Officers Basic Course (DEOBC).

PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino conferred to 106 new agents their PDEA badges during the ceremony held at the Development Academy of the Philippines. The new agents belong to DEOBC Batch 2018-14.

The 106 new agents, comprised of 66 females and 40 males, belong to class Liyab-Diwa, which stands for “Lupon ng mga Ahenteng Inatasang Pagyamanin ang Adhikaing Buwagin ang Drogang Iligal at Tuluyang Wakasan.” They started training at the PDEA Academy in Silang, Cavite on November 29, 2018.

Aquino congratulated the 106 agents of DEOBC 2018-14 Liyab-Diwa, the 14th batch of drug enforcement officers who successfully completed six months of training at the PDEA Academy under the leadership of the Officer-in-Charge IAV Lirio Ilao.

“They will be assigned to the different regional offices as part of our enhancement capability to fully address the drug problem,” Aquino said.

He added that the agency has a continuous recruitment program for drug enforcement officers to augment the present strength of newly established airport and seaport units in provincial offices.
