Police: No incidents during school opening

IN LINE with the “Oplan Ligtas Balik-Eskwela 2019,” the Police Regional Office (PRO) Central Luzon reported no single crime incident in the region relative to the opening of classes on public schools on June 3.

PRO Regional Director Joel Coronel credited the successful maintenance of peace and order in the region, particular in and around school vicinities, to the tight implementation of “Ligtas Balik-Eskwela 2019” campaign carried out by Central Luzon policemen.

“The 'zero crime incident' can be attributed to the diligent efforts of our Philippine National Police personnel to ensure the safety and security of the students especially among the school vicinities,” Coronel said.

He lauded the more than 3,400 policemen deployed during the opening of classes to man police and motorists assistance desks, as well as those who reinforced the local traffic management team in their respective areas of responsibilities for successfully carrying out their duties.

“I commend them for their assiduousness in performing their duties, indeed, it paid off with no single incident happened. I would also thank the public for their cooperation and support to us,” he said.

Coronel, meanwhile said that police and motorists assistance desks will remain in place on June 13 to ensure maximum security during the first week of classes and until the celebration of Philippine Independence Day.

“Our personnel will remain on convergence points particularly in bus terminals, airport, seaports and recreational areas including highways, main thoroughfares and crime prone areas to ensure maximum police presence,” he said.
