REVIEWING accounting-related documents and contracts of the Provincial Government is among the top priorities of returning governor and outgoing Rep. Gwen Garcia’s (Cebu, 3rd) transition team.

In an interview Monday, June 3, 2019, lawyer Frank Eduard Dinsay V, a member of Garcia’s transition team, said they need the documents so that both camps can have more time to address concerns that might come up.

Last Tuesday, June 4, Garcia’s transition team met with Capitol’s transition team to discuss the matter.

“We need those documents to review it so that we can question it later on, or ask for additional documents. There are a lot of documents, accounting-related and contracts, of course. (This also includes) contracts with employees, the 2019 annual budget. We will check all that matters,” Dinsay said.

Issued last April 3, Executive Order 4 provides for the creation of a local governance transition team, with incoming vice governor and outgoing Gov. Hilario Davide III as the chairperson and outgoing Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale as the vice chairperson.

The creation of the team is mandated by the Department of the Interior and Local Government through Memorandum Circular 2019-39.

The executive order also requires Capitol department heads to be part of the team. (RTF)
