THE tandem of Darius Beloy and James Young clinched the Datba Weekly Doubles Tournament crown at SM Lanang Premier Bowling Center Tuesday evening, June 4.
Both totaled 1,141. Young, whose handicap is 26, struck for a total of 613 pinfalls after three games while Beloy, with 29 handicap, scored 528.
The champion pair received a cash prize of P1,200 while runner-up duo of Manny Nierra and Art Galendez pocketed P600.
Nierra (25) hit 571 pinfalls while Galendez (22) garnered 544 in the bowlfest organized by the Davao Tenpin Bowlers Association (Datba) led by its president Rameses Tancontian.
AJ Galendez (19) and Bert Garde (30), for their part, combined for 1,107 pinfalls to finish third.
Trailing behind were Junix Allawan and Virgilio Magdale (1,086); John Tamondong and Ronald Martin (1,048); and Joshua Disuacido and Cedric Alimbuyong (1,032).
Games will resume with the weekly singles tournament set on Saturday at the same venue. This serves as qualifying for the monthly finals that offers bigger cash prizes with trophies.
