ABOUT 10 houses made of light materials were destroyed by fire in Calbayog City Thursday afternoon, June 6.
Authorities said the incident took place in P-1, Barangay Capoocan around 2:50 p.m.
Initial investigation revealed that the fire started at the roof of the house of Donna Ecal, married, a laundrywoman.
Fire Officer 3 Roy Marquez, investigator of Calbayog Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), said faulty wiring caused the fire that spread quickly to nearby houses.
The BFP declared a fire out at 3:38 p.m.
Estimated damage to property was placed at P400,000.
