LTO Angeles City conducts road safety awareness drive

THE Land Transportation Office (LTO) Angeles City District Office, headed by Chief Transportation Regulatory Officer Aida Santiago, recently conducted a road safety awareness drive to educate students from various schools and members of transport groups in this city.

Among the schools already visited by the LTO Angeles City staff in the ongoing road safety awareness drive include the City College of Angeles City and Angeles City National Trade School, plus the Macdo-Henson Tricycle Operators Drivers Association at Barangay Lourdes Northwest.

"The road safety awareness drive is actually an outreach program we are conducting upon the instruction of LTO Regional Director Eduardo De Guzman. It is an information drive on LTO laws, traffic violations and penalties and more importantly, LTO reminders and road safety measures," Santiago told SunStar Pampanga.

She said the LTO Angeles City District Office also did their rounds of the city's major thoroughfares and transport terminals to distribute flyers about road safety.

Big clean-up and sorting day

Meanwhile, the LTO Angeles City District Office also conducted their 2019 first semester big clean up and sorting day last May 18, 2019.

The district office, Santiago said, exerts maximum efforts to improve its services and deliver utmost customer care and convenience through the big clean-up and sorting day.

During the big clean-up and sorting day, LTO Angeles City personnel came together once more to spruce up the district office's interior and exterior premises.

"What we do in big clean-up and sorting days is geared for our customers and clients. We are one in saving the environment and preserving it by properly sorting and segregating old files that need to be discarded done through systematic inventory. Along with that, the office premises are spruced up, cleaned and our gardens kept green as our part in protecting the environment. More importantly, we strictly adhere to and implement the Arta [Anti-Red Tape Act] so we regularly put up signages and workflow posters so our clients will not fall prey to fixers," she said.

Conducted by the LTO Angeles City District Office in accordance with its ISO certifications, the big clean-up and sorting day is continuously enhanced to cover most areas of customer care and service.

"We see to it that we provide comfort and convenience to our hundreds of daily clients applying for or renewing their licenses and vehicle registration," Santiago said.

"We want our clients to get that experience of excellent service when they transact with us. We want them to be comfortable while waiting for their documents and completing their transactions," she added.

LTO Angeles City has an air-conditioned lounge, a breastfeeding area, and priority lanes for persons with disabilities, senior citizens and pregnant women.

Santiago said the LTO Angeles City District Office will continue to conduct the road safety awareness campaign and sustain its big clean up and sorting days for the benefit of its clients. (JTD)
