THE Phoenix Pulse Technology Amateur Golf Tournament will tee off on June 28 at the Alta Vista Golf and Country Club in Pardo, Cebu City.

The 18-hole event, also known as the Phoenix Cup, will move to the rolling layout of the Alta Vista Golf and Country Club for the first time after four years in Cebu. The June 2019 handicaps will be applied and the Stableford Scoring system will be used.

The event is for the benefit of the advocacy and programs of the Phoenix Philippines Foundation.

“We have environment, education, health and outreach programs. We believe that this can best benefit our fellow countrymen,” said Raymond Zorilla, Phoenix Petroleum second vice president for external affairs, business development and security.

The event was officially launched at the City Sports Club on June 6, 2019.

“We have 10,000 graduates; 15,000 to 16,000 people have benefited from our medical missions. We have 30 adopted schools. We have planted 50,000 trees and provided technical skills thru our alternative learning school system to almost 2,000 people who are now employed here or abroad,” he added.

At stake in the tournament are hole-in-one prizes in all par-3 holes. The prizes are P1 million cash, one Harley-Davidson Motorcycle, two Tata Manza Petrol—one red and one black and P100,000 worth of Phoenix fuel/lube gift certificates.

“The event started in Davao City 11 years ago, and since we expanded here in Cebu we have always gotten a good reception. People look forward to this event,” said tournament organizer Liloh Evangelista. (RSC)
