P337,000 ‘shabu’ seized in Bacolod drug busts

AN ESTIMATED P377,000 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in separate drug busts of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) and Regional Intelligence Division (RID)-Western Visayas in Bacolod City Thursday, June 6.

The operation also led to the arrest of the suspects Rolinda Navarro, 52, of Barangay 2; Diamond Piola, 25, of Barangay Banago; Klint Mark Maiz, 27, of Barangay Mandalagan; Joan Belocura, 36, a high value target and resident of Barangay Estefania; Kerwin Hablero, 42, of Barangay 2; and Jonard Parantar, 19, of Barangay Active, Barangay Mandalagan.

Police Major Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said Navarro was caught selling shabu to a police under cover of Police Station 2 at Purok Narra Baybay, Barangay 8 at about 3:30 p.m.

Police recovered from Navarro’s possession 10 sachets of shabu weighing 10 grams with estimated market value of P120,000, the P500 marked money and coin purse.

At about 9 p.m., Police Station 2 also arrested Belocura, Hablero, and Parantar at Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession 13 sachets of shabu weighing 3.5 grams with estimated market value of P42,000, the P500 marked money and drug paraphernalia.

Operatives of Regional Intelligence Division-6 also arrested Piola at Purok Mahimulaton, Barangay Banago at about 8 p.m.

Police recovered from Piola’s possession four sachets of shabu weighing six grams with estimated market value of P65,000, the P500 marked money, coin purse, and digital 12 weighing scale.

Police also recovered one homemade shotgun loaded with two live ammunition.

At about 9:30 p.m., operatives of Police Station 3 proceeded to Purok Kasanag, Barangay Mandalagan that led to the arrest of Maiz.

Police recovered from Maiz’s possession four sachets of shabu weighing 12 grams with estimated market value of P150,000, the P500 marked money and drug paraphernalia.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facilities of Police Stations 2 and 3 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (MAP)
