FIVE people were arrested while some P272,500 worth of illegal drugs seized in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City, the police reported Friday, June 7, 2019.
Police Brigadier General Froilan Quidilla, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula director, identified the arrested suspects as Allan Lacandalo, 43; Ryan Sipin, 26; Jansen Elmi, 29; Francis Climaco, 27; and, Salip Pulalon, 24.
Quidilla said Lacandalo and Sipin were arrested in a buy-bust operation Thursday, June 6, in Winggo Subdivision, Barangay Sta. Maria, this city.
Quidilla said seized from them were some P250,000 worth of suspected shabu packed in 13 heat-sealed plastic sachets, P500 marked money, a digital weighing scale, and a pouch.
Quidilla said Elmi was caught in possession of some P15,000 worth of suspected shabu packed in eight plastic sachets and P200 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust operation around 1:15 p.m. Thursday in Barangay Sta. Catalina, this city.
He said seized from the possession of Climaco were some P5,000 worth of suspected shabu packed in 11 heat-seal transparent plastic sachets when he was arrested around 4:50 p.m. Thursday in Barangay San Roque, this city.
He added that a fragmentation grenade and P200 marked money were recovered from the possession of Climaco.
Quidilla said Pulalon was arrested around 7:20 p.m. Thursday in Barangay Talon-Talon, this city.
Quidilla said Pulalon was caught in possession of some P2,500 worth of suspected shabu packed in five plastic sachets and P300 marked money consisting of three P100 bills.
The police official said the suspects were detained while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are set to be filed against them. (SunStar Philippines)
