ARAYAT, Pampanga -- A motorcycle rider was recently arrested by local authorities here after he was caught in possession of illegal drugs during an anti-criminality checkpoint operation in Barangay San Antonio here.
The 21-year-old suspect identified as John Jericho Valerio was initially flagged down by personnel of the Pampanga 1st Mobile Force Company for non-wearing of helmet and lack of plate number.
Further questioning revealed the suspect’s motorcycle was also unregistered, prompting police authorities to conduct physical inspection on Valerio and his personal belongings.
During the said physical inspection, police discovered a sachet of marijuana kept inside a small glass tube inside the wallet of the suspect, as well as different drug paraphernalia.
The police then arrested Valerio in violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
Valerio was taken to Arayat Police Station for proper arrest proceedings and is now currently detained in the station’s detention facility.
