P2-M Mabalacat SPED building opened

LOCAL government and school officials here recently opened the newly constructed Special Education or SPED school building at the Mabalacat Elementary School in Barangay Poblacion in Mabalacat City.

City Administrator Rosano Paquia said Mayor Cris Garbo led the inauguration and formal turnover of the two-classroom building worth P2 million.

The city government funded the construction of the SPED classrooms which will accommodate physically challenged elementary school pupils.

Teacher Gina Quiambao thanked the mayor and other city officials for the school building.

She said that after more than two decades, their dream has finally come to reality.

“On behalf of the learners with special education needs, most of them cannot talk, most of them do not understand what’s going on, pero dakal a salamat, we say thank you for sharing with us a little amount of your municipal budget,” she added.

The opening of the new classrooms marks a new beginning for the school kids.

Garbo said each classroom can accommodate 60 pupils per session.

Before the construction of the SPED building, students with disabilities had to transfer from room to room to accommodate other kids.

Paquia said the construction of the school building started from March 6, 2018 and was completed last May 25, 2019.

“On behalf of Mayor Cris Garbo po and the City Gov’t of Mabalacat, masaya kami pu na ayantabayanan da kayu pu at susuportan king bawat planu na ning MES para mas improve taya at develop taya ing eskwelang ayni,” he said.
