ABANG Lingkod Partylist Rep. Stephen Paduano is eyeing chairmanship of the Committee on Housing in the coming 18th congress.
Paduno said that if he cannot get the Housing Committee he would rather stay at the minority as Deputy Minority Leader.
The Committee on Housing is chaired by outgoing Third District Rep. Alfredo Benitez who has been helping Paduano in his political career.
Paduano, meanwhile, said that he will be one of the principal authors of the bill that will pursue the redistricting of Iloilo and the Lone District of Bacolod.
He revealed that he has already discussed the matter with newly-elected Iloilo Rep. Jam Baronda and Iloilo Mayor-elect Jerry Trenas on the matter.
Bacolod he said is even more qualified to be divided into two districts.
There were already previous moves on redistricting Bacolod City but it was not pursued for lack of endorsement from the Bacolod City officials.
