Former Negros Army commander dies

THE Philippine Army held a send-off honors for the remains of former 303rd Infantry Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Francisco Delfin who died of lymphoma (cancer) Monday, June 3, 2019 in a hospital in Iloilo City.

The send-off was held at the Iloilo International Airport around 7:00 a.m., Friday, June 7.

Major General Dinoh Dolina, Commander of 3rd Infantry Division together with Brig. Gen. Eric Vinoya, 3ID Assistant Division Commander; Brig. Gen. Benedict Arevalo, 303rd Brigade Commander; Brig. Gen. Alberto Desoyo, 301st Brigade Commander; and Brig. Gen. Ignacio Madriaga, 302nd Brigade Commander, led the send-off honors for the remains of Delfin who was flown to Fort Bonifacio Metro Manila via C-130 aircraft of the Philippine Air Force accompanied by his wife, Marites and other members of his family.

Delfin has served as the 17th Commander of 303rd Infantry Brigade from 2015 to 2017 and the Assistant Division Commander of 3rd Infantry Division from 2017 to 2018. He retired from the military service February this year at age 56.

His remains will lie in state at the Libingan ng mga Bayani, FBMM and will be buried on June 11. (TDE)
