2 killed in separate road accidents

TWO persons were killed in separate vehicular accidents in Negros Occidental.

The victims were identified as Jose Mariano Rubio, 20, security guard of Biscom in Binalbagan, Negros Occidental and Cesar Quito, 82 years old of Barangay 2.

Based on the investigation conducted by the Binalbagan Philippine National Police (PNP), the vehicular accident happened around 11:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 4 at the National road fronting Coda, Barangay San Jose, Binalbagan Negros Occidental, involving an Isuzu Flatbed 10 wheeler truck, loaded with container van, driven by Jose Marie Lauriano and a blue Honda TMX 125cc Motorcycle driven by Rubio.

The investigation further showed that the parked Isuzu Flatbed truck was facing the north direction of the highway while the motorcycle that was traveling in the same direction, collided at the rear left portion of the truck.

The victim incurred severe injuries in the head and body and was brought to Binalbagan Infirmary but was declared dead on arrival by attending physician while the truck driver and its driven vehicle were temporarily held at Binalbagan PNP for proper disposition.

Meanwhile the Sagay PNP reported a traffic accident on Wednesday, June 5 involving one Isuzu Drop side truck registered under the name of Pepsi Cola Products Phils Inc., that was driven by Sunday Dela Cruz.

Dela Cruz was maneuvering backward at the shoulder of the road and accidentally ran over Quito who was standing behind the truck.

The victim sustained serious injuries and was brought to Lopez District Farmers' Hospital Inc. by Sagay Rescue Team for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

The truck driver voluntarily surrendered to Sagay Police Station and its driven truck was brought to Sagay PNP for proper disposition.
