Estremera: Pets and their anxieties

I WAS in the middle of pet crises soon after being bitten and scratched by Notmy, the black cat, last Easter Sunday. Of course, the human doctors will give you all reasons to be anxious.

That cats can have rabies, the wounds are deep, that I have to go through the series of injections a week apart, and to keep an eye on Notmy for 14 days and observe any behavioral changes: becoming sullen, becoming weak, becoming afraid of water...

Being a regular office worker, you can’t watch if your cat is drinking or not.

While watching for these signs on Notmy, it was Dogdog who manifested behavioral change. She became sullen, preferred to hide in a corner, even growled and bared her fangs at me when I tried to drag her out of the corner she was hiding in. Was she drinking water? Maybe yes, maybe no. Is she afraid of water? She has always been.

But Dogdog being Dogdog, she was happy when Doc Bo visited, even lapped at her water bowl. She was given a clean bill of health, but she returned to her sullen self the day after. What gives?

As I was observing Dogdog, it was Notmy’s turn to act up. He wasn’t eating. Except that, it was exactly one month after. That means, his behavioral change is not related to having bitten me. But his not eating could not be brushed off and necessitated a visit to the vet.

He was given several shots including one for fleas. It took a week after before he ate again.

Two pets, manifesting strange behaviors, that is more than enough worries on top of regular work stress.

They did shape up after I surmised that they must be suffering from some form of anxieties and I did a reduced dose of pranic psychotherapy on them.

Yups, in pranic healing, there is also psychotherapy, and since it’s taught in pranic healing that everything is energy, then that must go for pets as well.

Did pranic psychotherapy work?

Well, unlike humans, you can’t ask a cat or pet how he is feeling and expect a reply outside a meow and a brush of a cat’s head in your hand and a fast wagging and gleeful jumps from a dog. But they did give me this, after a month of showing weird behaviors that can best be likened to anxiety. So I can only attribute their return to their normal behaviors to pranic healing. So yes, everything is energy and we can become the means to harness the good in these energies to help even our pets. (Suffice it to say, I also help humans, but there is a different level of joy when pets return to their frisky selves).

With Dogdog back to her cheerful self, I gave her her overdue bath... she still hates water. Nothing has changed.

P.S.: If you’re interested in pranic healing, there’s a Mindanao Pranic Healing Center along PalmaGil Street near the RCBC-Claveria. :-)
