Another 3 villages to be declared drug-free

THE Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) is working on a proposal that seeks to declare another three villages as drug-cleared, an official announced.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Roberto Marcos, ZCPO deputy director for operations, said the three villages that will soon be declared as drug-cleared are Tictapul, Sibulao, and Pangapuyan.

Marcos said the three villages had registered the lowest number of drug surrenderers.

Marcos said records showed that Tictapul has had only 47 drug surrenderers, 23 of them users and four pushers while Sibulao recorded only 52 drug personalities to include 51 users and one pusher and Pangapuyan registered zero drug personality.

Marcos said they are now completing the requirements for the declaration of the three villages as drug-cleared by the City Anti-Drug Abu Council chaired by Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar.

This city will already have eight cleared villages once Tictapul Sibulao and Pangapuyan will be declared as drug-cleared areas.

The CADAC, earlier this year, had declared five villages as drug-free upon the recommendation of the ZCPO.

These are the villages of Dulian, Capisan, Lumayang, Tigbalabag, and Lanzones. (SunStar Philippines)
