Leonardia, Familiaran file Soce

OF 35 local candidates in Bacolod City, only re-elected Mayor Evelio Leonardia and re-elected Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran had already filed their statements of election contributions and expenditures (Soce) before the Commission on Elections (Comelec)-Bacolod last week.

Comelec-Bacolod records showed that Leonardia and Familiaran submitted their Soce before its deadline on June 12.

Bacolod City has a total of 27 candidates for councilor; three candidates for mayor; three candidates for vice mayor; and two candidates for congressman.

Leonardia and Familiaran both ran under the Grupo Progreso.

Acting Bacolod election registrar Ann Janette Lamban earlier said all the candidates, both winners and losers, should submit the Soce at Comelec office within 30 days after the midterm elections.

Lamban said that it’s part of the requirements of all the candidates to submit their Soce after the elections.

Only those candidates who withdrew their candidacy are not required to file their Soce.

Soce is a comprehensive report about the campaign contributions and expenditures of political candidates.

Lamban said the Comelec Campaign Finance Committee will validate and evaluate the submitted Soce.
