THE first OM Fest Cebu was a successful one! The event, manifested by Windy Gancayco of the Gassho Center for Healing Arts, featured a whole day of health and wellness that culminated with an ecstatic dance party atmosphere. The full day retreat had mini workshops as well.

OM Fest Cebu took place at the Asmara Urban Resort and Lifestyle Village with healing sessions held every hour throughout the day by inspiring health and awareness experts. Even an OM Fest Special of vegan pica-pica was wholeheartedly prepared by Asmara for this retreat.

For enlightenment and prosperity, speakers included Gancayco herself for the Cacao Ceremony and Intro to Mindfulness; Rosan Cruz for Kundalini Yoga and Gong Bath; Pia Mercado for Art Talk; Phuong Lam for Essential Oils for Daily Life; OJ Hofer for Tai Chi proxied by Jose Mateo; Lana Osmeña for Sound Healing with bowls; Ayn Latonio for Pranayama; siblings Kymberly and Divine Maitland-Smith for the Mindful Dance; and Amy Sanchez for Pranic Healing.

As part of the health and wellness experience, the list of vendors supporting the event were 11:11 Crystals, Gallipott, Dear Paper Designs, Polesphinx, Olivia’s Arts and Crafts, Tanyanas Hill House, Solti, 4C Home Decor, The Gassho Center for Healing Arts, KMC, Crol’s Tattoo, Liku and Taita Inti. Local act featured was Silingan Ni Felicity, who wowed the crowd!

Having moved to Cebu six years ago, Gancayco witnessed a subtle opening toward different practices that allowed each one to step into his or her own power instead of giving it away, whether it be for physical or mental health.

“My vision of OM Fest is a venue for people to discover and/or celebrate the fact that healing and wellness are not only accessible to all, but that they can be fun and celebratory, not only serious and esoteric,” she shared.

“I believe that humans often feel disconnected and sometimes don’t know how to handle these emotions, often resorting to suffer in silence, resulting in further pain and loneliness. Therefore, the OM Fest is a start to offer something new, to remind us that we are all connected in many ways. My goal toward this is to create a yearly festival about joy, health, wellness and love, and to focus more on retreats and festivals such as this one. I only create the space but the magic can only happen with the people present, sometimes in surprising ways.”

Congratulations on Cebu’s very first OM Fest. Until next year!
