22 most wanted persons, 225 others nabbed in Eastern Visayas

A TOTAL of 22 most wanted persons and 225 other violators were arrested by police around Eastern Visayas in May 2019 alone, said Police Regional Director Dionardo Carlos.

“Strengthened efforts in anti-criminality approach for the whole region will always continue among our line units,” said Carlos, adding that police under his command are on 24/7 in guarding communities for any eventuality.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ma. Bella Rentuaya, regional public information officer, said the Police Provincial Office (LPPO) posted five arrest of most wanted persons for the case of murder, two for rape, and one each for frustrated homicide, attempted murder and violation of Republic Act (RA) 7610 or anti-child abuse law.

The LPPO also arrested 86 other wanted persons with 18 counts for violations of Presidential Decree (PD) 1602 or illegal gambling.

The Southern Leyte Police Provincial Office arrested one most wanted person each for cases of acts of lasciviousness, slight physical injury, and violation of RA 7610.

It also nabbed 24 other wanted persons with seven counts for violations of PD 1602.

In Eastern Samar, police nabbed three most wanted persons each for cases of murder, rape and alarm and scandal. At least 27 other people were arrested for various offenses.

While the Samar Police Provincial Office arrested one most wanted person for frustrated murder and 30 other wanted persons in which four were arrested for homicide and murder, two counts each for cases of sexual abuse, and violation of RA 7610 and RA 9262 or anti-violence against women and children.

A total of three most wanted persons were arrested in Northern Samar for the crime of murder. Police also nabbed 36 other wanted persons facing various charges.

Tacloban police arrested two most wanted persons for attempted murder and rape, and nine other wanted persons for various cases.

Ormoc also cornered eight other wanted persons with two counts for case of murder and single count each for cases of homicide, statutory rape, and other offenses. (SunStar Philippines)
