Watchmaker killed by riding-in-tandem

A WATCHMAKER was killed in a shooting incident at around 12:30 p.m. Monday, June 10 at Punta Talaban, Brgy Talaban, Himamaylan City.

The victim was identified as Bonifacio Nombre, Jr., 53 years old and resident of the said barangay.

One of the suspects was identified as Marlon Luntayao, legal age and a resident of Brgy Antipolo, Pontevedra who served as the lookout and driver of the motorcycle and another unidentified person who shot the victim.

Based on the report of Himamaylan PNP the suspects disguised to be clients of the victim and had their watch repaired.

When the victim was repairing the watch in a nipa hut inside the compound owned by Elsa Miranda, Luntayao excused himself and went back to their motorcycle excusing that he will park it properly. Without any provocation, one of the suspects shot the victim twice, hitting him on the left portion of his head that caused his sudden death.

The two suspects immediately fled from the scene of the crime on board their black Kawasaki Barako motorcycle.

The Himamaylan PNP is still conducting further investigation to determine the motive of the killing.
