SM CITY Tarlac has bagged two Silver Stevies in the prestigious 2019 Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards for its Belenismo sa Tarlac entry and Playdate Project campaign under Innovation in Entertainment Events during the recently concluded awards night, held at the InterContinental Hotel in Singapore.

SM also received one Bronze award for its Belenismo sa Tarlac entry (Innovation in Energy & Sustainability).

These wins were three of the 45 Stevie Awards received by SM Supermalls that garnered the company with the highly coveted Grand Stevie for “Most Honored Organization.”

“We are thankful and truly elated by these validations of our hard work, dedication and passion to offer family fun for our valued customers. We strive to do this through constant innovation and offering nothing but the best activities and experiences for shoppers in SM malls nationwide,” said SM Supermalls chief operations officer Steven Tan.

Belenismo sa Tarlac is an annual province-wide competition that started in 2007, which aims to promote both the art of belen-making and the bayanihan spirit among the people of Tarlac.

To support the bolstering of local cultural heritage, SM City Tarlac participates in the yearly affair. Their entry in 2018 is a centerpiece that truly highlighted the beauty of Christianity while raising the need for environmental sustainability.

The Playdate Project, a region-wide campaign involving SM City Tarlac and neighboring SM Supermalls, namely: SM City Olongapo Downtown, SM City Cabanatuan and SM Megacenter Cabanatuan, was composed of four Saturdays of fun activities for kids aged 4 to 12 years old, in March 2018.

Different activities involved being a little chef and barista, being your own Picasso through an art workshop and basically, gaining new playmates throughout the sessions.

SM had previously won two Gold Awards for the Entertainment Apps and Corporate Websites categories, namely the #AweSM Logo Hunt Mobile App and the SM Supermalls Corporate Website. SM also nabbed 24 Silver Awards and 19 Bronze Awards. Various SM malls – from Quezon City to Baguio to Cagayan de Oro – clinched awards for their innovative and entertainment events.

The Stevies, previously known as The American Business Awards and then The International Business Awards, is the only business awards program that recognizes innovation in the workplace in all 22 nations of the Asia-Pacific region. The Stevie Awards are widely considered as the world's premier business awards that confer recognitions for outstanding programs, such as The International Business Awards which is already on its 16th year.

The focus of all categories in the Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards is now on innovation: innovation in all its forms, in every aspect of work life and achievement. (PR)
