Mabalacat lass is Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental

A PRETTY lass from Mabalacat, who was the lone representative of Pampanga, bagged one of the coveted crowns in the Binibining Pilipinas 2019 Sunday night, June 9, 2019.

Emma Marie Tiglao from Xevera, Tabun, Mabalacat City was hailed as Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental, one of the six “queens” listed in the pageant’s website.

The others are Binibining Pilipinas Universe, Binibining Pilipinas International, Binibining Pilipinas Supranational, Binibining Pilipinas Grand International and Binibining Pilipinas Globe.

Emma has always ended up in bridesmaid finish in some of the major pageants in Pampanga. She is a former first runner-up of Miss Mabalacat in 2010, Mutya ng Pilipinas 2012, Miss Midori Clark 2018.

In 2014, she was one of the 15 semifinalists in Binibining Pilipinas and the 4th Princess in the Miss World Philippines 2015. She was also Miss Sinukwan 2011 in Pampanga.

Aside from the third top title in the prestigious pageant, Emma also bagged two special awards – Best in National Costume and Miss Pizza Hut.

Reward and Jubilation

Mabalacat Mayor Cris Garbo, during the flag raising ceremonies Monday, led city officials and employees in congratulating Emma.

He said he will be asking the City Council to allot a cash incentive of P250,000 for the newest beauty titlist of the city.

“We share Pampanga’s pride as she is a Mabalaqueña who represented the province and won. The beauty of our people goes beyond good looks as it is also seen in God-given virtues such as caring, kindness, and persevering. Thank you Queen Emma Tiglao for showing to all the brilliance and grace of our people. You made us all winners, simply because you trust you can win. Congratulations and Mabuhay!” Garbo said in a statement sent to Sun.Star Pampanga.

Mabalacat is known for national pageant winners that include Melanie Marquez (Miss International 1979), Julian Savard (Miss Teen Philippines 2006), Maricel Morales (Mutya Ng Pilipinas 1995), and Marilyn Maristela (Mutya Ng Pilipinas Asia Pacific 1996).

June Magbalot, widely known for discovering beauty titlists, said Emma, one of her wards, just brought another source of pride for Mabalacat City.

“I am so proud as one of her mentors and she really wanted to represent Mabalacat but the whole of Pampanga supported her. The city never left her from her journey and it all started with the opportunities we gave her, and she is very grateful lady as she acknowledges all the effort and support extended by our team that included Mayor Garbo,” Magbalot said.
