THERE are four interesting stories in the Bible involving the number 70.
In the book of Genesis, Joseph, son of Jacob was the first one in his family to arrive in Egypt.
With God’s help, Joseph arrived in Egypt, and reunited with Joseph, they were 70 people in all.
In the book of Exodus, Moses was recruited by God to liberate the Israelites from slavery in Egypt.
After they left Egypt, God directed Moses to appoint 70 qualified leaders to assist Moses in governing the israelites who increased in population to over 600,000.
In the book of Psalms, it was stated that the average life span of mankind is 70 years.
During Jesus’s time, he appointed 70 disciples whose names were not mentioned in the Bible.
These disciples were believed to be still alive today.
