A BUSINESSMAN was shot dead while trying to collect debt payments from the
suspect in Barangay Dulao, Bago City on June 10.
The victim was identified as Reniel Ramos, 35 years old, businessman, of Barangay Calumangan, Bago City while the suspect was identified Marjune Suyo, 30 years old of Barangay Busay also of Bago City.
Based on the initial investigation of the Bago City PNP, the victim is the financier of the rice farm of the suspect.
While the victim was on board a Canter truck together with his laborer going to the farm of the suspect to get the harvested rice of the suspect as payment for his debt, the suspect shot the victim without any provocation.
Ramos sustained a gunshot wound at the back of his head and died on the spot.
Suyo also allegedly tried to shoot at the companion of the victim on board the canter truck but the firearm jammed. Immediately the companion of the victim ran away from the scene of the crime and reported to Bago CIty PNP.
The suspect took the wallet and cellphone of the victim and escaped on board a black Kawasaki Barako single motorcycle towards Barangay Dulao proper.
Recovered from the crime scene was one fired cartridge case and two live ammunition of .45 caliber pistol. (Teresa D. Ellera)
