INCOMING Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. has vowed to work on the upgrading of the Rafael Lazatin Memorial Hospital or Ospital Ning Angeles (ONA) into a Level 2 Category hospital.
Lazatin said the city’s public hospital, named after his former mayor grandfather Rafael “Feleng” Lazatin, will be equipped with facilities and equipment in order to meet the requirements of a Level 2 Hospital.
“Level 1 Category ya pa mu pu ing ospital tamu ngening kasalukuyan uling dakal ya pin pu kulang. Ken mu pung laboratory side na, atin ya pung kulang. I'm pushing na sana mayari ya ing term ku, wishful thinking ku mag Level 3 ya. Pero most achievable is Level 2 mayari ya pu ing atlung banwa,” Lazatin said.
ONA operates an intensive care unit and a cardiology unit just like other Level 2 hospitals, the mayor-elect added.
But these facilities were ordered to be closed by the Department of Health because ONA was classified as Level 1 Category hospital, according to Lazatin.
“At present, we have an ICU, papasara da la pu ren uling ala ta pa ketang level a ita. Ali la pu malyaring mag-operate rening aliwang pemangabit da anti mo pu ing ICU ampo ing Cardiac, pang Level 2 and Level 3 la pu ren,” he added.
Aside from the ICU and a Cardiac Care Unit, ONA should also comply with the laboratory requirements in order to become a Level 2 hospital, Lazatin said.
“After complying with the laboratory requirement, we will be able to become Level 2 and then we will on Level 3 and hopefully we will reach Level 3 in three years’ time,” he added.
Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda has vowed to assist the city government in terms of sourcing out funds for the hospital, according to Lazatin.
“As we speak, menakit ta na pung pondu para pu keng laboratory. Iyan pu ing metung tamung gagawan ngeni para keng ONA,” Lazatin said.
