THE duo of Retired Brig. Gen. Gerardo “Bam” Jamorabo and Korean Yoon Sung Hee bagged the overall title in the 19th Island Tee of the Mactan island Golf Club in Lapu-Lapu City over the weekend.
Jamorabo, who is also the current assistant general manager of the club, fired identical rounds of 36 points, while Yoon shot 38 and 42. Their two-day total of 152 (74-78) points in the Modified Stableford Scoring System earned them the top plum.
The title for Division A went to Pio Barandog (44-42) and Stephen Matthew (32-30) who had a total of 148 points, while the father and daughter tandem of Ariel (34-33) and Angela Mangana (32-30) finished second with 129 points.
The all-Korean pair of Park Seon Do (27-37) and Park Dae Ho (42-36) topped Division B with a total of 142 points, beating Brig. Gen. Stephen Parreno (38-42) and Lt. Renmar Samonte (31-27) who had 138 points.
Nilo Gozo (32-37) and Rod Wycoco (38-44) topped Division C with 151 points, while Loreto Alburo (39-41) and Ching Ochea (36-34) got second place with 150 points.
The Division D plum went to Libby Ricafort (22-25) and Allan Gullar (39-41) with 127 points, while the tandem of Col. Bienvenido Casaclang (35-38) and Lt. Danny Miranda (29-23) got second place with 125 points.
Rolando Alberto (32-28) and Cebu-based Japanese Masahisa Kawakami (29-33) ruled the seniors’ division with 122 points, beating Razi Razon (26-33) and Melvin Go (30-32) with 121 points.
Aside from topping Division A, Barandog also got the individual award for Class A with a 14-under-par 86 on rounds of 44 and 42.
The best score for Class B was logged by Brig. Gen. Stephen Parreno with 80 points on rounds of 38 and 42, while Jun Yap had the best score for class C with 86 (41-45). Edwin Tero ruled Class D with 81 (40-41). In the ladies division, Angela Mangana had rounds of 83 and 84 strokes for a total of 167, which earned her the low gross honors.
The low net prize for the distaff side went to Ching Ochea with 72 and 73 strokes for a total of 145. Megan Cutaran was also recognized for topping the junior golf category. (PR)
