Pecson to invite more investors to Magalang

MAGALANG town mayor-elect Romulo Pecson said he will invite more investors to put up businesses in their municipality.

Pecson claimed that investors began locating in the municipality, a first-class agricultural town, during his term from 2009 to 2016.

Fastfood chains Jollibee, Chowking, and others are now located in the town, according to the incoming town mayor.

“We will invite more investors and we will become a commercial center like other towns in Pampanga in the next few years,” Pecson said.

“This is one of our programs and we hope to realize this in the next three years of our term,” he added.

The returning mayor earlier vowed to implement programs that will give regular allowances to all senior citizens and free medicines to indigent residents.

Pecson said these are the “campaign promises” of his team “Love Magalang” which is under the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas.

“All of them (elderly) will receive allowances. Number two is we will not let health centers run out of medicines. Those were our promises to our constituents,” Pecson said.

He claimed that the past administrations had been selective in giving perks to senior citizens and even residents asking for financial and medical assistance.

Pecson said these are the reasons why he ran again for mayor in this first-class agricultural municipality.

During his term as mayor from 2009 to 2016, Pecson said even those who did not elect him benefited from the local government's services and assistance.

"I saw their management style that is why I returned," Pecson said.

Pecson defeated outgoing Mayor Malu Lacson of the Kambilan Party in the mayoralty race by only 27 votes. Pecson got 27,166 while Lacson received 27,139 votes.
