Cops nab high school student selling drugs

A GRADE 8 student was collared by authorities after he was caught selling illegal drugs on Tuesday, June 11, 2019.

The 18-year-old student was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Drug Enforcement Team of Panabo City Police Station together with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Davao Norte Provincial Office at around 2:15 p.m. of June 11 at Purok 25, Barangay San Vicente, Panabo City.

The raiding team seized several pieces of evidence from the suspect’s possession including three pieces of heat-sealed transparent sachets containing white crystalline substance of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride also known as “shabu” and the one piece marked money of P500 placed inside the small brown envelope from the front left pocket of his worn red short pants.

Police said the student is a newly identified drug personality.

He will face charges of violation of Section 5 and Section 11 of R.A. 9165.

Meanwhile, from June 4 to 10, PRO 11 arrested a total of 38 illegal drug personalities out of the 24 anti-illegal drug operation conducted and eight of them were listed under the Philippine National Police (PNP) drug watchlist.

Of the 38, the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) nabbed 21 drug suspects out of 14 operations conducted followed by Davao del Norte Police Provincial Office (DNPPO) with 13 apprehended out of five drug operations, Davao Oriental PPO with three seized individuals in two operations and Compostela Valley PPO with one suspect arrested in three operations.
