The furniture and fixtures have already been awarded to the supplier and will be delivered before the month ends, Escalante said.

He added that they also authorize the governor to give up to 20 percent discount.

The discount is based on the discount given to senior citizens and persons with disability he said.

“Based on the feasibility study, if there is 60 percent occupancy on our second year of operation we can already gain income, “ Escalante pointed out.

The Capitol invested P150 million for the renovation of the hostel, he said.

“After a year, the Capitol will start P9 million yearly amortization and we expect an P11 million to P12 million sales,” he also said.

With the 300 seater function rooms, the hostel targets local officials and employees as well as the barangay workers and day care workers who will attend seminars and trainings and study tours in Bacolod, Escalante said.

It has yet to be decided if Mambucal will be the official caterer of events at the hostel, he said. (TDE)
