Debulgado may get committee on finance chairmanship

GRADUATING Senior Board Member Salvador Escalante revealed Thursday, June 13, that 1st District Senior Board Member Rommel Debulgado will most likely get the chairmanship of the powerful committee on finance.

Escalante made the revelation as the provincial board is set to hold its last session on June 19.

Escalante is the present chair of the committee on finance.

He said that through his chairmanship in the committee he was able to bridge outgoing Governor Alfredo Maranon and incoming Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and in fact he was one who has worked out for the realization of the merger between the United Negros Alliance ( UNEGA) and the Love-Negros in the recently concluded elections.

“I was able to bring the message of the vice governor to the governor and vice versa and we have done it well”, Escalante said.

Escalante will return as mayor of Cadiz City and that his official inauguration is set on July 3 which is also the Charter Day celebration of the city.

Meanwhile Board Member Manuel Frederick Ko said that he is eying for the chairmanship of the Committee on Human Resource. He refused to further elaborate but he said, “it’s non-negotiable.”

He said that he would also be willing to retain his chairmanship in the Energy Committee that he presently chairs. (TDE)
