Local artists hold paint exhibit at Marriott

KAPAMPANGAN artists banded together for a unique exhibition of paintings at the lobby of Clark Marriott Hotel.

“Salangi Ko Pu” (Please Alight) will run at the 5-star hotel from June 13 to July 12, 2019. It will feature 27 paintings by 16 artists from Pampanga, including four wall pieces or sculptures on frame. The theme of paintings is anchored on Philippine Independence where shades or red, white, blue and yellow are mostly used in the art pieces.

Jayvie Dizon, marketing communications manager of Marriott Clark, said that the exhibit displays sketches that illustrate the vibrancy of Filipino culture.

“Clark Marriott Hotel aims to strengthen its affinity with the local community it serves, Pampanga that is, thus, is supporting the local Kapampangan artistry,” Dizon said.

He added that the exhibit will also highlight the copper bonsai artworks of Andy Bondoc.

Among the featured artists is Most Outstanding Kapampangan Awardee for Arts Leonardo Tulabut whose works were highly appreciated and were sold in the recently concluded “Salangian” art exhibit at the Clark Museum.

Tulabut and Bondoc are joined by Dodjie Aguinaldo, Vitt Pantig, Amel Garcia, Edu Perreras. Eliseo Perreras. Eric Perreras, Edwin Catli, Julius Gonzales, Gerald Dela Cruz, Joyjoy Zabala, Jonathan Pili, Manuel Madrid, Armando Ramos, and, Hermenigildo Pineda.
