Seoul in a day

IT IS a dream come true for Filipino KPop and Kdrama fans and travelers as South Korean government slackens its visa requirements for Filipinos wanting to visit Oppaland, Korea.

But visiting Korea can give tourists pain in the pocket due to the expensive city life so make sure to book ahead of time for your flight and to check in to a cheap hotel with free breakfast to save money for experience.

In my third visit to Korea, I’ve already gone to numerous top tourist destinations and landmarks and many of it for free. Some have affordable entrance fees and these are all located within the city center of Seoul.

To fully enjoy the place, you must be on foot. The best jump off point is at the heart of Korea, the Seoul City Hall; a perfect place where past, present, and Korea’s future can be experienced.

Just a few blocks from City Hall, the postcard famous Gyeongbukgung Palace is located. Be sure to be around at 10 a.m. and or 2 p.m. to witness the changing of guards. You need to pay 3,000 Won or P130 if you wish to go inside the palace’s second gate.

Two more palaces are around the block and several museums to visit.

Food has always been part of every culture but Korean street food has been a trademark for Kdrama fans since it is always present in their TV series. To fill your taste buds, head to Namdaemun Market or Myeongdong also not far from the city hall.

For shopping, locals would recommend Namdaemun because of the cheap prices of souvenirs, shoes, shirt, beauty products, and many more.

To wrap up your Seoul tour, be sure to drop by the famous Namsan Tower and its love locks famous for its romantic vibe during night time.

There’s a ton of things you can do and appreciate in Seoul but two things are highlighted in Seoul: nice people and the strong public Wi-Fi connection.
