32 jail personnel in Bacolod negative for drugs

AT LEAST 32 employees of Bacolod District Jail-Male Dorm Annex located at Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City were tested negative of illegal drugs.

The mandatory drug testing was conducted by the laboratory personnel of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on jail employees on June 10.

All urine specimens gave negative results for the presence of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, and Tetrahydrocannabinol (marijuana), PDEA confirmed.

Meanwhile, PDEA Negros Occidental Provincial Office (PDEA-NOPO) with representatives from the PNP and Municipal Health Office conducted on-site validation on five affected barangays in the Municipality of Hinoba-an.

The barangays were Sangke, Damutan, Daug, Bulwangan and San Rafael.

The ongoing series of on-site validations is in line with the upcoming Regional Oversight Committee deliberations set to convene this July 2019 relative to the campaign against illegal drugs. (TDE)
